Glass for homes and renovations
Home projects often include shower screens, bathroom mirrors, splashbacks, windows, pool fencing and balustrades. The glass needs to work with the finished room, existing openings and the way the household uses the space.
For a bathroom renovation, for example, the final tile position and available door clearance affect the screen. For a mirror, nearby lights, power points and joinery affect its size and installation.
Shopfronts, offices and other business spaces
Commercial work includes aluminium shopfronts, glazed entrances, office partitions and custom mirrors for fitouts. Owners may need to consider customer access, staff movement, privacy and the sequence of other trades.
Tell the glazier who is coordinating the project, when access is available and whether the premises will stay open during the work. Large panels or restricted access can require additional planning.
The application determines the specification
Glass selection should follow the actual installation requirements. A shopfront, shower screen and balustrade do different jobs; they should not be specified simply as “residential” or “commercial” glass.
Provide plans and any relevant project requirements at the quoting stage. Where an engineer, designer or certifier is involved, the glazing work needs to be coordinated with their specification and responsibilities.
Compare the installation scope
Quotes should describe the glass, framing or hardware, removal work and installation arrangements. For a fitout, clarify how the glazing connects to surrounding floors, walls and ceilings.
For both homes and businesses, explain any access limits and timing constraints early. A small installation can still require detailed planning if the space is difficult to reach or other work must happen first.
One conversation for the whole project
Tuggerah Lakes Glass handles both home and business glazing across the Central Coast. We can discuss a shower screen and mirror together, or coordinate shopfront and internal partition work with your contractor.
Start with plans, photographs and your suburb. We will help clarify the glazing scope and the next step towards a measure and quote.
